We believe that trauma has a profound impact on the individual and community.

We believe that a Trauma-Informed Community can help build the foundation for its residents to overcome the past, thrive in the present, and face the uncertain future with renewed confidence.

PURPOSE

Our Mission Statement

We exist to create a bridge to healing by building a supportive, connected community dedicated to enhancing resiliency and reducing the impact of trauma.

Erie will be a trauma informed and responsive community committed to creating a culture of hope and safety.

Join the mailing list, come to one of our twice-yearly community meetings, or join a work group.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

ECTIC COMMUNITY MEETING

All members of the five workgroups as well as any invested community members meet together.

The entire coalition meets twice yearly to update the community about activities, projects, and accomplishments.

WORK GROUP 1
COMMUNICATIONS

Goal 1: Increase Trauma Awareness & Prevention Efforts


The purpose of the public awareness workgroup is widespread dissemination of brief messaging to the Erie Community about the impact of trauma, ACEs, prevention efforts, the role of resilience (individual family and community), and paths to healing.

RESEARCH AND DATA

Goal 2: Determine Local Trauma Prevalence & Corresponding Needs

The purpose of this workgroup is to conduct research to determine the incidence and prevalence of trauma in Erie County. A second purpose is to use the results of this research to apply for funding opportunities – approved

WORK GROUP 3
TRAINING

Goal 3:  Provide Trauma-Informed Training Opportunities for the Community


The training workgroup is focused on infusing trauma awareness, knowledge, and skills into communities and organizations. The workgroup aims to disseminate trauma-informed opportunities and strategies to the community and workforce through various educational and training platforms

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Goal 4: Identify & Distribute Community Trauma Resources


This workgroup will establish clear pathways to access trauma resources and treatment within Erie County.
