ECTIC provides trauma education and awareness opportunities specifically designed for organizations/providers or teachers and other professionals working within a school system. There is no cost for ECTIC educational opportunities. The only requirement is that organizations/providers/schools be willing to complete brief pre and post assessments to monitor the effectiveness of the presentations.
Educational presentations range from 1 – 4 hours in duration based on need and availability.
Opportunities Include:
TRAUMA 101
(1 hour)
An overview of the definition, prevalence, characteristics, and consequences of trauma.
RATIONALE FOR
TRAUMA-INFORMED SCHOOLS/ORGANIZATIONS
(2 hours)
An overview of the definition, prevalence, characteristics, and consequences of trauma, followed by an introduction to the concept of trauma-informed care.
TRAUMA-INFORMED
CARE EDUCATION
(4 hours)
A detailed, interactive presentation of the concept and characteristics of trauma and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) model of trauma-informed care.
