May 2023
Mental Health Awareness Month
May was first declared as Mental Health Awareness Month in 1949 and has long since been celebrated across the nation. This month especially, we recognize the courage it takes to seek help, prioritize wellness and build resilience.

Resilient Erie County PA
Resilience is the ability to bounce forward after hardship, to take on difficult challenges and to find meaning in life. It is the learned ability to respond positively to difficult situations, to find hope, and to transform unfavorable situations into wisdom, insight, and compassion.
Individuals, and communities, can build resilience!
We envision a more resilient Erie County, PA. One in which all individuals can thrive.
To do this, it takes all of us. This month we encourage you to engage in intentional action to enhance your resilience through our 31-day challenge and community events.
Join us as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month.
Throughout the month of May we encourage you, your friends,
your co-workers, relatives, siblings, significant others,
EVERYONE, to join us as we raise awareness about
mental health and the importance of self-care.
Participate in the 31-day Resilience Challenge!
Each day complete the activity and take a picture of yourself,
or your group, doing it.
Post your pictures to Social Media using #ResilientMeInErie.
We'll review your posts and pick our favorite wellness moments to be shared on our Social Media, website and at our main event. The more you post, the more chances you'll have to win FREE raffle baskets to be awarded at the main event on May 31st, 2023.
